Growing demand for hemp seems to be more sustainable now as Canada continues to enjoy supplying the USA and the world with hemp, as shown in this Government report.

I remember the 'boom' year if 1999. I particularly remember the following 4 years when the hype turned out to be no more than that - a load of spin. The hemp situation has stabalised since the hemp seed and fibre that was in storage was slowly consumed, and now the growing demand has stabalised. There was only one peak again in 2006-7 when one Public Company (I don't like getting too personal) hyped their investors to produce more than required. This time, what followed was not a complete end to hemp farming, just a return to 'normal'.

This leads me to believe that the market is stabalizing now into a regular growth curve.

I do foresee a number of outcomes of recent technology that may indeed lead to some more spikes, and let's hope they will represent the start of the true growth potential of this industry.

If you are keen to be part of the growth of hemp, then please, please do your research first and don't make the mistake of the many that have come before you - know your market!

I am planning a break this holidays. Though my camping break with the family takes me to Peat's Ridge, a sustainability festival where I will be making at least two presentations on hemp.
